Main Responsibilities

Responsible for day to day accounting and finance functions at Telepin including:

  • Ensuring compliance with IFRS and Corporate policy in all areas
  • AR and AP, invoicing, processing collecting/paying in a supervisory and escalation role – including negotiation and management of requirements for legal advice
  • WIP/Unearned/Unbilled analysis, proactively working with Professional Services (and other stakeholders) to maximize WC and ensure accurate revenue recognition
  • Prepare/ oversee preparation of all month-end closing financial entries
  • Monthly and quarterly financial close, adhering to strict timelines of a public company
  • Monthly and quarterly financial analysis to roll up to CFO and parent company
  • Forecasting and budgeting
  • Manage internal and external audits

Be an active business partner to Professional Services and Engineering to develop and implement project control systems and ensure a good flow of accurate information

Analyze and provide feedback on RFI’s and contracts to ensure they appropriately contribute to our revenue and WC plans

IT and Facilities report into this role

Tools: Great Plains, BPC, Salesforce, Cloud Coach, Workday

Qualifications

  • Must have a CPA accounting designation
  • 7 – 10 years of Accounting experience, 2 – 3 years of previous experience as a Controller or Assistant Controller in a technology company, preferably supervising staff
  • IFRS and internal control experience
  • Experience creating budget and forecast models, and performing analysis of actuals to forecast
  • Project Management expertise with a proven track record of successful execution
  • Ability to multi-task and produce results under pressure
  • Proven track record of building strong relationships with non-finance groups
  • Works collaboratively and relates effectively to others by consulting with employees, colleagues, partners, clients, users and stakeholders
  • Past experience in a large ERP system as well as a high comfort level around multiple software packages

Reporting directly to the CEO, this position will be primarily responsible for the following:

Responsibilities


Mergers and Acquisitions (75%)


Work closely with CEO on identification of M&A targets, deal execution and post-close finance integration of new acquisitions within Portfolio.

Pre-acquisition

  • Information gathering and Q&A with prospect companies
  • Detailed bottom-up, multi-scenario financial modelling
  • Due diligence, including reviewing and assessing financial statements, financial history by customer, and detailed A/R and WIP analysis
  • Market, competition, and industry risk and opportunity research
  • Preparing business summaries, investment memos, model analysis charts and commentaries, and responding to detailed Q&A

Post acquisition

  • Integration of acquired companies into corporate systems and processes
  • Coaching of management and finance teams on application of processes and systems
Porfolio Management & Guidance (25%)

Governance & Risk
  • Apply best practices to processes, people and systems to affect revenue, profitability and cash-flow, to improve operating efficiency and performance.
  • Responsible for Risk Management process review, policy standardization and process improvements.
  • Oversee and improve effective administration processes and systems for company records and contracts.
  • Stay up-to-date on trends and regulations to ensure effectiveness and compliance for the finance functions.
Finance Administration
  • Perform the last review of all deliverables on the finance side to parent company
  • Work closely with C&M Portfolio finance and M&A teams on all financial related matters.
Financial Governance & Reporting
  • Monitor and enforce Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for all C&M companies
  • Ensure/vet ‘Quarterly Strategic Review’ (QSR) process, using extensive excel modeling, pipeline and costs analysis to prepare a robust forecast
  • Ensure execution of action points from the QSR review process
  • Ensuring portfolio is compliant with IFRS and Corporate policy in all areas
Financial Management
  • Act as a business partner to the CEO and senior leadership team
  • Provide strategic financial leadership on issues affecting the business
  • Recommend and lead efforts to improve ROIC (return on invested capital) and/or growth performance

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or Accounting
  • Professional Accounting Designation & MBA is preferred
  • Minimum 7+ years of progressive financial experience in a leadership role
  • Must have senior management and M&A experience
  • Strategic thinker with strong leadership skills
  • Project Management expertise with a proven track record of successful execution
  • Strong attention to detail while handling multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong business acumen as well as knowledgeable in IFRS
  • Proven track record of building strong relationships
  • Works collaboratively and relates effectively to others by consulting with employees, colleagues, partners, clients, users and stakeholders
  • Hand-on contributor to all aspects of the finance function
  • Effectively transfers knowledge
